Rugby: Miserable afternoon for Thurrock

Thurrock 0 v 31 Eton Manor

THURROCK turned in a disappointing display against league leaders Eton Manor, on rain soaked afternoon at Oakfield.

Thurrock started brightly and had a couple of half chances in the first 10 minutes but they could just not add the final pass to make the breakthrough. But the visitors first insurgence into the Thurrock half resulted in a try for Eghan which was converted by Reed.

Thurrock continued to be in the game but every chance that came the visitor’s way, they made it pay with clinical finishing, resulting in further tries from Egham and Reed who added both conversions to lead 21-0 at the break

The second half was saw two teams working hard with no reward, until the visitors rolling maul from a line out close to the line resulted in a try for Goodchild, Reed again made no mistake with the conversion, and in the closing minutes kept a 100% record with a simple penalty.

Not a good afternoon for the Thurrock faithful let’s hope for an improvement when they make the short journey to Brentwood this Saturday with 3pm kick off at King Georges Field
