A poem for World Mental Health Day

To mark World Mental Health Day, Ockendon resident, former councillor and all round lovely person, Lynn Carr has sent us a poem in which she muses on the subject of mental health.

MENTAL HEALTH

WE ALL HAVE A PAST, IT TRAVELS SO FAST

HAPPY OR SAD, GOOD OR BAD, SANE OR MAD

MENTAL HEALTH AFFECTS THOSE WITH WEALTH

THOSE WHO ARE POOR AND THOSE WHO DON’T HAVE A FRONT DOOR.

NORMALS A WORD NOT A REALITY, THOSE AFFECTED BY PROBLEMS ARE LOST, WE MUST TRY TO BRING THEM BACK AT ANY COST.

THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN; NO POLITICIAN HAS SPOKEN OF THE PROBLEM APPROACHING. MENTAL HEALTH IS

GROWING, UNCHALLENGED UNRECOGNISED WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR THIS PROBLEMS BACK TO FINALLY BRAKE.

LOOK AT THE FIGURES LOOK AT THE FACTS, SEE FOR YOURSELF THE OVER PAID FAT CATS. THE CARERS ON THE GROUND WHO HAVE ALSO FOUND THE SYSTEM TO BE BROKEN MANY HEARTS ARE ALSO BROKEN.

THE SYSTEM NEEDS CHANGING THE BOOKS NEED RE ARRANGING; TO BALANCE THE GREED THAT OUT STRIPS THE NEED.

A WITNESS TO THE BROKEN SYSTEM
