THURROCK Lifestyle Solutions are a community interest company established by a group of disabled people in order to provide services that support them to live the lifestyle of their choice in the Community of Thurrock.
We are proud of our disability heritage and see all 194 of the people that use our services as’ customers’ – they pay and we provide. This means we have a variety of supports from Personal Assistants, through Supported Employment and Short Breaks, to young people in transition and those that need support to live in their own homes overnight.
We need your help! – As we are expanding we need two more Community Facilitator management roles. You will be responsible for a group of 30 – 40 Customers and you will ensure that they have the quality of life they choose through our support. You will manage a staff team to support disabled people through helping them to establish their Individual Lifestyle Plans and ensuring these are enacted. We really mean people to maximise their choice and control!
Your Qualities – we expect you to have worked for Disabled People (90% of our Customers have Learning Disabilities), be extremely community orientated, to be able to organise complex rotas to meet individual requirements, to be English literate and computer literate, to have an understanding and ability to demonstrate excellent management skills, to be able to offer solutions not problems, to understand and believe in the social model of disability, AND to totally understand what working as an equal value partner means and not to be a clock watching institutionalist!
