Callous robber tears earring from pensioner’s ear in Grays

POLICE are investigating after a 72-year-old woman had an earring snatched from her ear.

It happened at around 8pm on Saturday, October 11, in Seabrooke Rise, Grays.

The victim, who lives locally, was knocking on a neighbour’s door when the man came up behind her and pulled the 22 carat gold earring from her ear. A photograph of the remaining earring accompanies this press release.

The victim was not injured. The suspect is described as a white man, about 25-years-old, 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing a grey hooded top; blue jeans and a dark blue beanie hat with a white logo one the front.

Anybody who recognises the earring or who knows anything about the theft is asked to contact Pc Andy Pattle at Grays via Essex Police 101. They can also leave information anonymously by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
