A CHILD required medical treatment after a fire in a house in Orchard Close in South Ockendon.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to tackle the fire in a bedroom of the two storey house.
Crews administered oxygen therapy to a 53-year-old man and a boy aged 12 who were suffering after breathing in smoke.
They were later left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
The fire is believed to have been triggered by a television.
The incident was dealt with by 20:27 hrs.
