Children form Ockendon Scout and Guide Group, Stifford Sea Scout Group, Belhus Scout Group and Thurrock Marching Brass took part in the procession from the Ockendon Scout and Guide Group HQ in Tamarisk Road to the Memorial, where Thurrock Spectrum Brass provided the accompaniment during the service and last post.

As well as the children and their friends and family, there were also representatives from the Police, British Legion, Deputy Mayor Sue Gray and her consort and other organisations.

The Parade then returned to the Ockendon Scout and Guide Group HQ where hot refreshments were available.

Rob Clay, Chairman of Ockendon Scout and Guide Group said: ‘This parade is always very popular but this year I think we had a record number of children taking part and it was very moving to see so many people at the service.’
