A COUNCILLOR for Orsett has expressed her delight that a bus service in her ward has been saved.
Cllr Sue Little has fought a hard campaign to ensure the residents of Bulphan have a bus service.
Cllr Little said: "I am delighted to confirm that after an anxious wait by my rural residents in Bulphan the 265 bus which is being withdrawn has been replaced by Trans Vol taking over the contract albeit operating with a slightly lesser service.
"This has definitely been a tense few weeks for residents who rely on the service for hospital visits, doctors, chemists and of course their weekly shop.
"The officers have worked extremely hard for me to secure this contract and I would like to thank all these involved.
