RELATIVES of elderly Orsett residents left without power for over a day have hit out at the electricity providers.
Sandown Road off Stanford Road lost power at 8am on Tuesday morning.
Twenty-four hours later and the power is still off.
UK Power Networks communicated to anxious relatives that they were doing all they can.
However, hopes of returning the power by 5pm on Tuesday evening and then 2am on Wednesday morning were dashed as a "secondary fault" was discovered.
With the temperature heading towards zero, many residents had an uncomfortable night.
One relative, Emily Gooch spoke to YT.
Emily said: "My grandparents live on Sandown Road. They are not in the best of health and so, more than most people, depend on basics like electricity.
I am to only angry that they have been left without power for over 24 hours on what was a cold cold night but I am also angry at the lack of communication."
UK Power Networks have been communicating to residents through twitter.
They told YT that they hoped to now have power restored by 2pm.
YT has also contacted Thurrock Council and local councillor Sue Little in order to see how they can help.
