THE children from Benyon Primary School are celebrating their recent success after finishing in 1st and 2nd position in an online mathematics competition against fourteen other classes from Thurrock schools.

They had 44 children in the top 50 where overall 315 children from Thurrock took part. Tami Akingbehin (Year 6) was the overall winner and Samantha Malasan (Year 5) came second.

Headteacher, Mrs Sansom told us ‘’I was delighted by the enthusiasm and motivation shown by all the children who were inspired to enter this competition not just in school but at home as well. We are very proud of them all’’

The children are currently taking part in the national competition against 1,267 classes from across the whole of the UK.
