Men sought after mass brawl at Chafford Hundred railway station

CCTV released after group of teenagers assaulted at Chafford Hundred station

British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information after a teenager was punched during a disturbance involving two groups at Chafford Hundred station on Saturday, 8 November.

Investigators have released CCTV images of four men they would like to speak to about the incident, which took place around 2.45pm in the ticket hall.

Detective Constable David Bishop is investigating. He said: “An altercation took place after a group of six teenagers appeared to cross a group of four men. Two of the older men punched one of teenagers and threatened the group with violence.”

Witnesses contacted the police, but both groups swiftly fled the scene before officers arrived at the station.

DC Bishop continued: “We are asking anyone who was at the station at the time and saw what happened to get in touch with police as they may have vital information key to the investigation.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the men responsible and, after reviewing CCTV images from the station, I would like to identify and speak to the men in the photographs as I believe they will have information which can help the investigation.

“Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, can really help us to build a fuller picture of the sequence of events that afternoon.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference B11/ESUB of 02/01/2015. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
