Police searching for missing man Brad Arthur recovered a body in Grays this morning (January 6)

Officers from the Essex Police marine unit were carrying out a search of a drainage dyke off Manor Road when the discovery was made shortly before 11am.

Bradley, 24, from Chafford Hundred, was reported missing on January 1 after spending a night out with friends, first at Orsett, followed by a house party in Grove Road in Grays.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Baxter, who has been leading the search for Mr Arthur said: "The body has not been formally identified at this time but we have suspended our search for Bradley.

"His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very distressing time.

"We would like to thank everyone who has assisted in the search for Bradley, especially those people who helped officers carry out searches in the Grays area and also the media and the many people who offered information through our appeals on social media.”
