Heybridge Swifts 4 v 3 Aveley

AVELEY played a huge part in a seven goal thriller against Heybridge Swifts but lost 4-3.

This was no disgrace, Heybridge are a very erratic side but are still capable of exciting football and so it proved.

Hey bridge opened the scoring with a fine strike by ex-Miller Aaron Gayle. But Holland equalised soon after.

Things looked very promising when Petrit Elbi put the Millers 2-1 up.

Heybridge levelled themselves with the dangerous Billy Hunt scored from close range.

But this was a classic ding-dong battle with Elbi scoring for Aveley from 25 yards.

It was now vital that the Millers stretched their lead but they just could’t get that lead and The Swifts equalised on the stroke of ninety minutes.

Over eight minutes of injury time was played and deadly Billy Hunt took the opportunity to score the winner.
