POLICE have appealed for witnesses following a fatal road collision in Grays.
Officers were called to Oliver Close at around 7.45am, Wednesday February 18, following reports of a collision involving a refuse collection vehicle and a heavy goods vehicle.
The passenger of the refuse collection vehicle, who is in his 30s, was attended by ambulance crews but sadly died at the scene.
The road was closed whilst forensic investigations took place and was reopened shortly after 2pm.
A 40-year-old man from Grays has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.
