IMPULSE Leisure Corringham will be hosting Swimathon, the world’s biggest fundraising swim, this spring.

On Sunday 19th April 2015 you can take part in the annual Swimathon, raise funds for Marie Curie and, in doing so, and help terminally ill patients and their families. Sessions will run from 7.00-10.00am and 10.00am-1.00pm.

Swimathon is an annual event held in more than 600 pools across the UK. Over the past 27 years, swimmers have raised more than £40 million for charity. You can challenge yourself to swim 5km, 2.5km or 1.5km as an individual or as part of a team, so whether you’re a beginner, experienced swimmer, a group of friends or a family, there is a swim to suit everyone.

Once you’ve registered to take part, Impulse Leisure Corringham will be offering half price training sessions for all Swimathon swimmers on a Tuesday evening between 6.00-7.00pm and a Thursday morning between 8.30-9.30am. Impulse also holds SwimFit sessions at all of its leisure centres in Thurrock.

Swimathon President, Duncan Goodhew, said: “Swimathon provides motivation and a personal challenge to swimmers nationwide. It also offers a goal to train for, a target to achieve and a great cause to support.”

Take on the challenge and register today at HYPERLINK "http://www.swimathon.org" www.swimathon.org. If you would like to take part, but can’t make an official Swimathon event, Swimathon also offers the SimplySwim challenge from 9-19 April, which allows swimmers to take part in their local pool at their convenient time.
