STANFORD community champion, Rob Groves is set to undertake a marathon charity swim on behalf of Hardie Park.
Rob has been a tireless community champion for a number of years in the area.
Rob’s swim takes place on Tuesday March 10th.
A spokesperson said:
"We are still trying to raise the balance of funds for a fully accessible roundabout for Hardie Park which we hope will be installed in the spring.
"We had dozens of great fundraising ideas, some would take a bit longer than others, so Rob thought that he could go for a quick win by trying to swim 10km in Corringham Pool and getting sponsorship.
"Just to be clear, 10km is a LONG WAY TO SWIM! (400 lengths of Corringham Pool) In fact the furthest Rob has ever swum before in one go is only 5km.
"Shane will be getting involved too, counting the lengths and holding the towel 🙂 LOL
"Any sponsorship given will be very gratefully received".
