Easter weekend is upon us which means half term is fast approaching.
Here’s a list of family-friendly films being released in cinemas in time for the Easter period that are guaranteed to take the kids’ minds off chomping through their chocolate eggs (well, for a little while anyway).
Cinderella
Released March 27
Disney’s live-action retelling of the classic fairy tale about a servant step-daughter who wins the heart of a prince. It stars Downton Abbey actress Lily James, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham-Carter.
Frozen Fever

A seven-minute sequel to the hit Disney movie Frozen, which is being shown during screenings of Cinderella. The short film sees Elsa throwing a lavish birthday surprise for Anna that involves following a red string that’s woven around presents, leading her to a party. The trouble is, Elsa has a cold and each time she sneezes a batch of snow babies is magically unleashed – and it’s up to Sven, Kristoff and Olaf to stop them from mischievously ruining the party.

When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated while all Boov get busy reorganising the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, (Rihanna) manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons). The two fugitives realise there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water 3D
Released March 20
When a diabolical pirate above the sea steals the secret Krabby Patty formula, Nickleodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and his nemesis Plankton team up to get it back. The quest takes him into the world out of the water.
