Intu Lakeside will make your mouth water this May

MAY marks the start of the Big Treat, a wider group activity that intu Lakeside are taking part in – a month long celebration of all the tantalising eateries, cinema and other lovely treats on offer at the centre. First up, intu Lakeside will be serving up first class feasts for visitors with plenty of foodie themed activities for everyone to get involved with.

From free samples from the yummy restaurants to create-your-own vegetable characters, food will be both delicious and fun at the centre! This will be followed later on in the month with two days of free fun, including relaxation experiences, beauty activities, fabulous offers and much more as part of the leisure celebration.

intu Lakeside has non-stop foodie fun planned for the whole family during the first weekend of May. With a visit from Monsieur a la Carte, the comic French chef performing acts that include knife juggling and unicycling as well as comedy chefs on stilts, your sides will be left aching from laughter.

The kids can enjoy intu Lakeside’s FREE vegetable character workshop, a creative and fun way to learn about healthy eating whilst making a character to rival Mr Potato Head! The kids can also make you a sweet treat with a cookie decorating workshop using everything from sparkles to mini-sweets to create a scrumptious delight.

The celebration is continuing throughout the centre with our Little Book of Big Treats- a tasty offer booklet with lots of freebies and discounts from around the centre. When the lunch time pangs hit, pop up to intu Lakeside’s newly refurbished eatery or chill by the lake on the Boardwalk. From traditional dishes at Harpers British Classics, to Italian delights at My Pasta Bar and even a spicy taste of Mexico from Tortilla at The Eatery or enjoy the summer sunshine on the Boardwalk at restaurants including Miller and Carter, Wagamama and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

“intu lakeside has an excellent collection of top quality restaurants and cafes that will suit every taste and budget – so we decided to celebrate this by making May Treat Month and having a whole month of foodie fun!” explains Donna Callandar, Marketing Manager at intu Lakeside. “We are extremely proud of what the centre has to offer and in order to spread the word we will also be taking the intu Lakeside Treat Wagon on a tour of Essex, showcasing what is on offer at the centre.”

A selection of intu Lakeside’s most popular restaurants, including Wagamama, Olive, Oil and Oregano, and Rhythm Kitchen will be bringing delicious samples of their menu to the public throughout Essex, stopping at locations such as Lake Meadows park, Mersea seafront and Hockley Woods from the 3rd – 9th May.
