ENSIGN Bus Company are set to name 26 of their buses after Purfleet soldiers who fell in World War One.
A spokesperson said: "The stories behind the losses of the men have been researched by Ensign and will be written up in a short book form which we will be producing and giving to the Purfleet Heritage Centre so that they can sell copies to raise funds for the museum.
"For the launch which will be at the Purfleet Heritage Centre on May 4, one of our named buses will be joined by a very special guest vehicle. London Transport Museum’s original World War One ‘Battle Bus’ r
"All 26 named buses will enter service the next day and will proudly carry the name and date the soldier was lost until 11 November 2018".
