Appeal after Purfleet man Robert Mizzi goes missing again

Update: Sat May 9th

POLICE officers today renewed their appeal for information as they search for a man missing from his home in Purfleet.

Robert Mizzi, 26, of Watts Crescent, was last seen at just after 7am on Friday, May 8 by his mother at their family home. He left the house in a distressed state and police are extremely concerned for his welfare.

They think he may have travelled by train to get to Liverpool Street in London as he used a call box at the station in the early hours of this morning to contact family members.

Superintendent Trevor Roe said: "We know that Robert may be in the Liverpool Street area and have sent officers to work with our City of London colleagues to help find him. He has been missing before and was found at Stansted Airport so we are using our officers there to search the public areas.

"I would appeal for anyone using the trains to get to London or people travelling to Stansted Airport to keep an eye out for Robert and to let us know if they do see him so we can find him. We are concerned for his welfare and his family are very worried.”

Robert is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, with short fair hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black Nike jacket, dark coloured jogging bottoms and navy blue trainers.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police at Grays on 101.
