THURROCK made it five wins from five with a comprehensive win by 193 runs over Hatfield Peverel.
The hosts batted first on a very good pitch. However, with four of the top five batsmen out cheaply, opener Glen Sands dug in and made a majestic 109, his first century for the club, as the home side posted a commanding score of 233 from their 45 overs. There was also useful contributions from Matt Hills (27*), Andrew Hills (21) and Rhys Hymas (16).
The visitors only had nine batsmen, so chasing a big score was always going to be a difficult task. In the end, the batting line-up was completely blown away by the Thurrock bowlers. Only three Thurrock bowlers were required as the away side were all out for just 40 in 18 overs. Umaad Sultan took 4-14, Andrew Hills picked up two wickets with Daniel Laird getting another.
