Village Beach looking for volunteers

    DO you have an interest or particular specialism in event management or media/journalism, or are you more interested in the arts or stage production?

    There are a number of volunteer opportunities that people could get involved in at the Village beach event taking place on the 18th July 2015 including production roles, media roles and event operations roles.

    Village beach has been organised by company called METAL who have many years’ experience in organising music, arts & culture festivals. Laura Hudson, volunteer co-ordinator from Volunteer Centre Thurrock said “This is a brilliant opportunity for people who are interested in music, arts and culture to become involved in something really special for Thurrock”.

    “There are a variety of volunteering opportunities available that will suit people of all ages, especially young people who may be studying similar roles at sixth form, college or university and want to gain first-hand experience in organising or being involved in a festival that celebrates the creativity, ingenuity, arts and music of the whole Borough”

    Production roles: Site crew, stage assistants, crew assistants, hospitality, and production assistants.

    Media Roles: Media & social media assistants, interviewer/journalists and photographers.

    Event operations roles: Deputy zone managers, runners, brand ambassadors/gate stewards and hospitality.

    With seven stages of music, spoken word, dance, performance and international circus cabaret, including seven beach hut venues showcasing the best of Thurrock arts and heritage, the Village Beach festival will offer many opportunities for people to volunteer and help make the event a huge success for Thurrock.
