A MAN WHO was arrested in connection with a stabbing in the grounds of the Worlds End pub in Tilbury is also being quizzed by police over a murder in Stratford.
Police attended at the Worlds End pub on Friday morning after a report that a male had been stabbed in a cabin area close to the main pub.
A 36-year-old-man was arrested a few hours later in the port of Tilbury.
YT understands that the man is Mark Hayes.
Detectives were trying to locate Hayes after the body of a woman, believed to be his mother, Phyllis Hayes, was found in her home in Idmiston Road.
Hayes remains in custody at Grays Police Station pending further enquires.
The victim of the stabbing remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
