BRITISH Transport Police (BTP) officers want to speak to him following an incident of indecent behaviour at Ockendon station on Thursday, 4 June at 11am.
PC Joseph Mills said: "A 25-year-old man was waiting for a train, when he noticed another man staring at a woman sitting on a bench.
"The man appeared to be touching himself inappropriately, and the woman appeared upset by the incident.
"Seeing all this, the witness challenged the man’s behaviour and told him to stop what he was doing.
"He apologised for his actions and was told by the witness not to get on board the same train as the woman. A request which he agreed to."
The woman and the witness both boarded a train, leaving the perpetrator of the indecent act on the platform.
After the offence was reported, police viewed CCTV footage from the station.
PC Mills said: "This was an unsavoury incident. Nobody should have to put up with unwanted sexual behaviour on the rail network.
"I think the man in the image we are issuing today has information which will prove helpful to our investigation. Please let us know who he is."
