IT WAS an idyllic scene on Thursday evening, when the Thurrock Art Trail was launched in Horndon on the Hill.
Many of the exhibiting artists were there with the other guests, so the celebration included the opportunity to enjoy an artists’ tour of most of the venues in the village.
ThAT venues in Horndon on the Hill are: The Well House Gallery, The Swan Gallery, the courtyard behind High House (The Bell Hotel) and The Ostlers Restaurant at The Bell.
Other venues include Smiths Orchard Garden Centre in Grays, Barnards Farm, the ACME Artists’ Studios at Purfleet and an artist’s house in Grays.
Thurrock Art Trail has been running successfully since 2012 and it forms part of an annual county-wide network of art events known as Essex Summer of Art.
The 2015 Thurrock Art Trail opened to the public on Saturday 27th June and runs until Saturday 18th July.
The opening weekend coincided with Horndon on the Hill’s annual Feast & Fayre. The closing day, 18th July, is the day of the big new festival in Grays, ‘ Village Beach’.
