Update: 1225hrs
Detectives have appealed for information after an incident at Grays in which a man was seriously injured.
Police were called at 6.09pm on Thursday July 9 following reports that an injured man armed with a bladed weapon had been seen at Biggin Lane, Grays.
Armed officers arrived a few minutes later and used a Taser to detain the man at 6.18pm. He was arrested on suspicion of affray and taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury. The man, who is aged in his 40s and of no fixed address, remains in hospital today and under police guard.
A second injured man was later found near St Chads Road. He was treated for slight injuries and also arrested on suspicion of affray. He is aged in his 20s and also of no fixed address and also remains in police custody today.
DS Phil Moulsher said: "The two arrested men were known to each other and became involved in an argument in which they both received injuries. One man has a serious head injury and remains in hospital, but his injury is not life-threatening.
"We would like to hear from anyone who was in the Biggin Lane/St Chads Road area at about 6pm on Thursday evening and may have information about the assaults. We also need to find out more about a white van that was in the area at the time.”

A third man, who was arrested nearby on suspicion of being wanted for breaching crown court bail, also remains in custody.

Statement from ambulance service
"We were called at 6.12pm, and sent an air ambulance, paramedic officer, and several ambulances. We treated at least two men on scene with minor head injuries, and a woman suffering chest pains".

Three men were arrested following an incident at Biggin Lane, Grays shortly after 6pm today, Thursday July 9.
Two men from Grays, one aged in his 40s and the other in his 20s, were both arrested on suspicion of affray. The third man, aged in his 30s and also from Grays, was wanted on suspicion of breaching crown court bail.

THERE are reports of an incident at or near to the traveller park in Biggin Lane, Tilbury.
Police and ambulance staff have been there since just after 6pm this evening (Thursday).
By 10pm, there was still over ten vehicles at the scene.
A cordon had been placed at the top of Biggin Lane with a static police car one hundred yards down the Lane.
