Gold for Girls Team
Grays Athletic are pleased to announce that their new girls U16 team won the Jenny Kerwood memorial Champions Cup on sunday.
The tournament took place at Hutton football club.
The Grays Athletic girls team entered the tournament which consisted of U16, U17 and U18 teams.
The team were up for it from the first minute. The girls had expressed that they wanted to win the cup and that is exactly what they achieved.
They fought hard through the first round and made it through to the semi final.
In the semi final they meet a team that they had never won against, but this time it was different and they made it in the final.
After a tight match our girls won and lifted the trophy!!!
The managers, coaches and everyone involved at Grays Athletic would like to congratulate the girls on a fantastic achievement and we are extremely proud to have you representing the club.

Rainer Hein becomes the clubs new Head of youth development.
Grays Athletic are pleased to announce that Rainer Hein has been appointed Head of Youth development for the club.
Rainer, originally from Germany started playing football at the age of 4. He played played for clubs and German youth development teams until the age of 16.
Whilst Rainer was in Germany he played for the Cologne Football Academy Academy.
During his time in the German National Service, Rainer played and coached a German Air Force football team.
In 2004 Rainer moved to England and started coaching youth football teams. Rainer has locally coached Corringham Athletic, Corringham Cosmos and Tilbury FC, he has also coached various age groups for local schools and football academies.
Rainer Joined Grays Athletic in 2014 and helped coach our U16’s squad.
Rainers Coaching qualifications include:-
Level 1 – 2008
Level 2 – 2010
UEFA B prep – 2012
Speaking to the club Rainer stated "My aim is to develop and implement a youth system for Grays Athletic, where young football players can enjoy and play football on every level. I do hope that our great supporters will come along to our youth games and i look forward to seeing you all as the season progresses."
