Grays man in court over cannabis factory charges

ESSEX Police seized more than 70 cannabis plants when they executed a search warrant at a house in Grays.

Officers went to the address in William Street at about 5.40pm on Monday August 10 after colleagues on a local patrol had noticed a strong smell of cannabis in the area.

Plants were found to be growing in all rooms of the terraced house and a large quantity of hydroponic equipment was also seized.

Mark Zeka, 21, of William Street, Grays was charged with cultivating cannabis and was remanded in police custody to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday August 12.
