Gable Hall Head: "Bitterly disappointed" with exam results

    THE headteacher of Gable Hall school has said she is "bitterly disappointed" with their exam results for 2015.

    The school recorded a dramatic drop by 16% in students who gained 5 or more GCSEs at A* to C (inc English and Maths) from last year.

    In 2014, 74%of students attained 5 or more GCSEs at A* to C (inc. English and Maths).

    In 2015, the figure had plummeted to 58%.Th lowest mark for over a decade.

    The headteacher said: "Obviously, we are very disappointed with the headline figure, but we are heartened that our students post-bacc pass rate has held up.

    "We will do our utmost to ensure that any students whose post-16 offer of a place may have been affected, is catered for at the Stanford and Corringham Sixth Form Centre".

    75% of students passed 5 or more Any GCSEs at grades A* – C, with 58% gaining 5 or more A* – C passes including English and Maths.

    The percentage of students with 5 or more A* – G passes rose 4% to 98% up from 94% in 2014.

    This year as last year, every child left Gable Hall School with a qualification with the 1 or more A* – G figure sitting at 100%.

    At least 50% of their students gained 10 or more A*- C passes with more than 25% gaining 12 or more A* – C passes.

    1 in 3 of their students achieved an Ebacc pass (A* – C in English, Maths, 2 Sciences, History or Geography and an MFL – a suite of 6 subjects).

    The average number of GCSEs only per student rose to 10.5 this year up from 9.5 last year.
