Ryman Div One North
Heybridge Swifts 2 v 4 Thurrock
THURROCK grabbed all three points in an impressive performance at Scraley Road.
Swifts were dealt an early blow when conceding after just seven minutes when Ross Wall scored for the visitors and it went from bad to worse when Keke Orth and Ross Gleed scored after 20 and 26 minutes.
Joshua Fagbohun replaced debutant Peters after 58 minutes as Swifts started to find their way into the game and a wonder strike from the left foot of Billy Hunt from all of 30 yards left Madden rooted to the spot. Swifts continued to perform better and after a corner the ball fell to the edge of the box for a sweet left foot volley from Aldaberto Pinto to reduce the arrears with his first goal for Swifts.
Thoughts of a dramatic recovery were with ten minutes remaining former Swift Morgan sent over a cross from the right for Wall to notch his second of the match and secure the points for Thurrock.
Fleet are now seventh in the table, two points off the play-offs and with a game in hand.
