A VETERAN councillor for East Tilbury continues to be absent from key meetings at the council.
Cllr Barry Palmer has not attended a full council meeting since May.
He is also a member of the planning committee but he has not been to any of their meetings since July.
Attempts to place a substitute for him on the planning committee have proved difficult as he is an Independent and thus, a group of one.
YT understands that cllr Palmer was a victim of a fire during the summer.
We have sent a number of e-mails to his council account but have not received a reply.
