Ryman Premier
Grays Athletic 1 v 3 Kingstonian
TWO seasons ago, Grays Athletic started the season flying high but then fell away from October onwards. However, most agreed that, at that time, they wee "punching above their weight".
This season, they have also had a great start to the season and risen to the top of the league. But now they have failed to win their last four league games and the management team of Mark Bentley and Glen Little face their first major test.
Dan Bennett opened the scoring for the visitors in the 30th minute. Grays improved i the second half and equalised through Roman Michael-Percil but the in-form team from South London scored twice more through Jake Kempton in the 75th and 90th minute.
It seems that Grays Ath are not the same team without captain Kenny Beaney and top striker Dumebi Dumaka. Perhaps the new signings will help but such a brittle set up is not the hallmark of a promotion winning side.
Grays now have two cup games before they return to the league on Wednesday October 14th against Leatherhead.
