The big switch on

Keep Sunday 15 November free for the whole family to ‘come and play’ at intu Lakeside. With more Christmas trees than ever before, including the central atrium tree which is back by popular demand, this year’s Christmas light switch on will be one to remember. Be amongst the first to see intu Lakeside’s new Christmas Street and experience the brand new grotto and German market.

Take a stroll down Christmas Street

You can start a new family tradition as intu Lakeside unveils ‘Christmas Street’ – a magical outdoor space just off the corner of Hamleys (opposite Marks & Spencer) featuring its very own German Market. From Monday 16 November, Christmas Street will offer a feast for the senses, from traditional German sausages and roasted chestnuts to personalised gingerbread men.

Grownups can warm up at the bar and enjoy a glass of mulled wine or chill with an ice cold German beer whilst the little ones enjoy one of the Christmas themed rides.

The Grotto

Not too far down Christmas Street you will find our new magical Gingerbread House Grotto sitting right in the heart of the Market. The fairy tale theme runs all the way through the grotto where children will be met by some very special elves and taken through lots of fun, interactive games for them to enjoy including a Naughty and Nice scanner to help Santa find out who has been the best behaved in 2015 (even the parents). Santa will then be waiting to greet them with a fantastic complimentary gift and a photo opportunity. Don’t worry though parents, all children will be allocated a time slot to be seen within via our online booking system or drop in area in centre therefore no long queues, a cosy experience whatever the weather and more time to enjoy the market.
