    Thurrock 3rd 1 v 1 Crostyx 4th

CROSTYX were in an attacking mood from the first whistle of this East Division 9 encounter and Aaron Saunders had to make some timely tackles to prevent an early goal.

Gradually Thurrock gained a foothold in the game and Tom Archer linked well with Eryk Kinast in midfield to take the game into Crostyx area.

After 20 minutes Ryan Jones made a run on the right and played a one-two with Max Blake to beat the defence and slip the ball to Dave Leeks who hammered it into the net.

Thurrock continued to dominate the game and Dudley McNamara was unlucky to see his shot go inches wide after skilfully beating the keeper.

Just before half time, a rare Crostyx attack led to a shot which hit the post and was scrambled clear. in the second half Crostyx claimed the upper hand and Mark Harvey made a series of saves to resist a strong attack.

Midway through the half a quickly taken free hit by Crostyx caught the Thurrock defence flat footed and Harvey was unable to prevent a shot which flew into the top of the net.

Thurrock revived their efforts and were unlucky not to claim all three points as Leeks hit the post and both Archer and McNamara seeing shots from penalty corners deflected wide.
