THE mayor of Thurrock, cllr Sue Gray hosted a meeting with a new Islamic group last week.
Nasfat claim to have over a hundred members and meet at the Hathaway Academy in Grays each week.
And after the official photographs, the mayor invited them back to her parlour where members of the group got to don the robe, chain and even the tricorn (hat) that they mayor wears on official occasions.
