C2C chaos: Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle-Price breaks silence on new timetable

THURROCK MP, Jackie Doyle-Price has broken her silence on the C2C timetable controversy.

A tweet from the MP this morning (Wed) said: ‘Perfectly pleasant journey on the 0814 from Purfleet. People standing only from Rainham and Barking."

The MP is not the only person to delver a positive message regarding the new timetable with a number of people stating that they had found getting a seat, no problem.

A twitter account called C2Ccustomers that has amassed over 500 followers over the last week, appeared less than impress: They responded: "So you’re alright, screw everyone else?"

South Basildon and East Thurrock MP, Stephen Metcalfe spent a considerable amount of time on Tuesday evening speaking to concerned customers over twitter and pledging to take concerns to C2C.

We have yet to hear from Thurrock Council’s portfolio holder for transport, cllr Oliver Gerrish, who is, we understand, a commuter on the C2C line.
