Fishing report from The Warren
DUE to the unusual mild spell the lakes are fishing very well, with the Main Lake taking top honours. The big carp have been feeding particularly well with over 20 carp over 20lbs caught. 2 fish were over 30lb and among the successful anglers was Mark Graves with a superb mirror carp weighing in at 24lb 6oz.(see photo).
The pike fishing has really taken off ; with a large shoal of roach in the channel by the pier over 50 pike up to 18lb were landed from this section. 2 day ticket anglers took 13 fish up to 18lb between them on Wednesday.
Top honours go to day Ticket Steve Battle from Collier Row who caught the largest reported pike this year , a magnificent female weighing in at 26lb 5oz.(see photo).
Square Lake also fishing very well with one angler landing 11 carp up to 19lb in a day session.
