A CANDIDATE for the constituency of Thurrock in the General Election of 2015 is awaiting a High Court decision to see if he will be extradited back to Kenya.
A three day hearing in London last week concluded with a judgement date set for January 13th.
Kenyan authorities claim Mr Munyambu is a ’fugitive from justice’ asserting that he fled the country after being arrested over claims he used a company in Basildon to defraud a Kenyan resident.
Mr Munyambu has always claimed that the accusations are politically motivated.
Mr Munyambu has been involved in local politics in South Essex since he came to the United Kingdom in 2006.
Her has been a councillor in Basildon as well as an independent candidate for Thurrock in the General Election of May 2015. He polled 79 votes.
