THURROCK Council is holding a recruitment day to show prospective Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) why Thurrock is the place to be.
Whether your passion is primary or secondary, maths, English, science or languages, drama or history, come along and meet the team to see how they can support you to start your career in Thurrock.
The open day, on Wednesday, 2 March, starts at 11am at High House Production Park in Purfleet.
There will be a chance to meet Thurrock’s head teachers, department leads and council support staff.
Thurrock is excellently placed – London or the coast – you can be there within 30 minutes;
Thurrock is exciting – from High House Production Park – the Royal Opera House, and the Backstage Centre playing host to A-list celebs – to a wealth of retail and leisure activities, Thurrock has it all;
Thurrock is historic – with two forts (Tilbury and Coalhouse) it has been on the map throughout history, but is also making history today with the country’s largest deep water port being built right here;
Thurrock is growing – with six growth hubs there will be major changes in Purfleet, Grays and Tilbury town centres; billions are being invested;
Thurrock is you – all our schools are on the way to being good or outstanding by 2018, we’re nearly there, but we need teachers that share that ambition;
Thurrock is balanced – very close to London, but with house and rental prices comparatively affordable, and salaries competitive, you really can have it all … work, life, family and future.
