Are parents turning their backs on Hassenbrook, Gable Hall and St Clere’s?

THE Thurrock schools parents have put down as their first choice has thrown up another interesting set of statistics.

Once again, supply far outstrips supply at Harris Academy where 366 parents puts the Chafford school down.

Hassenbrook remains the least popular school as only 54 selected the school recently put in special measures. On the bright side, that is up from 42 in 2015.

Gable Hall sees a worrying drop from 275 to 204. St Clere’s has dropped from 282 to 250. Which may beg a question regarding education on the east side of the borough.

Overall, 516 parents put the three schools first choice in 2014; 599 in 2015 but that has dropped to 504 for 2016.

Gateway Academy rises from 204 to 217.
