SINCE late December runners from Chafford Hundred Running Group (CHRG) have been preparing for spring Marathons in Brighton, London and Paris.
Between them Ross, Carly, Carly, Chloe, Emily, John, Kondwani, Linda, Mark, Ollie, Patrick, Sam, Stuart and Tracy have clocked up approximately 3,250-miles.
On cold wet winter’s mornings and dark evenings they are out there pounding the streets and footpaths of Thurrock.
CHRG have two groups going the first has 3-guided runs per week the second cater for specific needs early on Sunday mornings.
Last Sunday a group of four took the train into Fenchurch Street and a lead bike ridden by Trevor guided them back to Grays completing 21-miles in around 3-hours (Less time than it took to get from Grays to Purfleet last Friday evening!).
London Marathon hopeful Mark said "I don’t mind admitting that was tough today but pleased I managed the whole 21 miles".
Over the next month and up until race day the group will continue to train aiming to be fit as they can be on race day and raise that all important vital money for charity.
