STANSTED Airport has strengthened its security operations after multiple terrorist attacks in the Belgian capital of Brussels this morning.
At least 34 people were killed after explosions at Brussels Airport and at the city’s metro train stations.
A Stansted Airport spokesman said: "In response to this morning’s events at Brussels Airport, the police presence has been increased in landside areas at Stansted.
"It is important to note that these are precautionary measures and we continue to closely monitor the situation.
"No airlines at Stansted offer direct flights to Brussels. All other flights are currently operating as normal."
