Volunteer Recruitment Fayre in Thurrock

VOLUNTEER Centre Thurrock is holding a drop-in Volunteer Recruitment Fayre to help people find volunteering opportunities and to meet organisations who are seeking volunteers.

The drop-in event is being held on Thursday 19th May, between 11am – 2pm at the Beehive, West Street, Grays, Essex, RM17 6XP.

Volunteer recruitment fayres are a great way for people to find out about volunteering, as it can bring many benefits such as enhancing your CV, making new friends, improving employment prospects and gaining new skills.

Terry Bryant, interim volunteer coordinator said “We have helped a lot of people into volunteering through the recruitment fayres as they are very informal and people can just pop in for a chat over a cup of tea and some cake”.

“We are particularly looking for volunteers to support the Community Hub programme in various locations including Purfleet, Aveley and Tilbury. We also have many one off opportunities available for some of the summer events taking place in 2016”.

There will be information available on youth volunteering and Timebank Thurrock where people can use their time to help others in exchange for time credits, and use the time credits to get help for themselves.

So come along to the Recruitment Fayre or visit our website the Volunteer Essex website on www.volunteeressex.org.

If you would like your organisation to have a stand at our recruitment fayre to promote your volunteer opportunities give us a call on 01375 389853 or email Terri on volunteer@ngagethurrock.org.uk.
