ESSEX Police attended Argent Street in Grays shortly after 9pm on Friday, June 3 after a black man driving a Grey Ford Focus decamped and made off from police.
The police helicopter attended at the scene and local sources reported armed officers patrolling the area.
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the man run from his vehicle is asked to contact Essex Police on 101.
