Hundreds turn out to run Horndon 10K

HUNDREDS of runners turned out on Sunday to run the testing Horndon 10K road race.

The race started in the heart of the high street and at the heart of the Horndon Feast and Fayre.

It is not the easiest of 10,000 metre road races as the daunting Horndon hill has to be scaled by all 320 runners after just a mile.

The race was won by Chelmsford AC’s Pual Whittaker in 32.46. The first Thurrock runner home was Harrier Oliver Mann who finished eight in 37.34.

First woman home was Gemma Huckett of Essex Triathletes in 43.02.
