Orsett & Thurrock’s home game against Harold Wood, like many matches around the county, was abandoned thanks to the poor weather.
At least there was a bit of play that took place before the rain relented. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first, but the first ball of the innings proved to be disaster as Raihan Hussain was run out by Matt Hills. Umaad Sultan, Paul Bennett and Shahid Khan took one wicket apiece before Mdaminul Isalm Shihan (53) and Craig Sampson (27*) steadied the ship as Harold Wood ended on 133-4 when rain stopped play, with the game called off at 14:55.
