ON Monday 25 July work will start on South Road, South Ockendon, to begin installing new gas pipes. The work will be carried out by National Grid.
The tough new pipes are to replace ageing gas mains, with the work scheduled for completion by 28 November.
During this time, temporary two way traffic lights will be used to ensure work can be delivered safely and efficiently.
The new pipes will be inserted into the old gas mains wherever possible which will reduce the need for digging and minimise inconvenience for road users.
There will be no need to close local footpaths and local businesses will remain open as normal.
Thurrock Council apologises for any inconvenience these works may cause.
