intu Lakeside is delighted to announce that it has appointed a new Marketing Manager, Ben Leeson. Ben has 10 years’ experience in the marketing industry and brings to the centre a range of skills including brand strengthening, brand management and partnership development.
These skills will be integral for intu Lakeside’s multi-million pound leisure development that is planned to take place at the centre over the next few years.
Essex based Ben started his successful career in the leisure industry as Marketing Manager at Impulse Leisure in 2006, before moving on to become Divisional Marketing Manager at Fusion Lifestyle.
Ben’s most recent role, before moving to intu Lakeside, was Marketing Communications Manager at global technology company Konica Minolta Business Solutions Ltd. This role included a variety of European B2B activities including developing PR strategies and relationships with global partners including a five-year brand alignment arrangement with Liverpool Football Club.
After over five years with Konica Minolta, Ben felt that it was time to transition back to B2C marketing and with plenty of local knowledge up his sleeve, intu Lakeside was the perfect opportunity for this transition.
With intu Lakeside’s leisure development set to start this year, the centre will see many new facilities, including the first Nickelodeon family entertainment centre in the UK, a Travelodge hotel and much more.
Ben says: "I am delighted to have been appointed the new Marketing Manager at intu Lakeside. I have been visiting the centre since it opened and I’m excited to work on the upcoming leisure development, it’s truly going to redefine the shopping experience for the south east! I have been tracking the rapid rise of intu as a brand over the past few years, its vibrancy and creativity as well as the company’s values were massively appealing to me and I cannot wait to settle into my role.”
