THE Thurrock Constituency Labour Party has voted resoundingly to back Jeremy Corbyn in the Labour leadership election.
YT understands that 27 members voted for Jeremy Corbyn and 8 voted for Owen Smith.
Mr Corbyn’s position as leader was described by former Thurrock MP as "unsustainable" but it look like the left wing leader will be taking Labour into the next General Election.
Many believe that this will be extremely good news for Thurrock’s Conservative MP Jackie Doyle-Price and whoever stands for UKIP in the next General Election.
Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle-Price won the last election with a majority of 536.
Many traditional Labour voters turned their back on the party in the General Election of 2015 as they rejected the leadership of Ed Miliband. Recent polling has indicated that they are even less inclined to vote for a party with Jeremy Corbyn at the helm.
