ESSEX Police have launched an investigation after a teenage girl died in South Ockendon.
Police were contacted by the ambulance service at 5.45am on Thursday September 1st following reports a young girl had been taken unwell at a house in Peartree close, South Ockendon.
Tragically, despite the best efforts of paramedics, the 15-year-old girl sadly later died at Basildon Hospital.
Another teenager at the property, a 15-year-old girl, was also taken unwell and continues to be monitored at Basildon Hospital. Her condition is not thought to be life threatening.
Two men, a 19-year-old boy from South Ockendon and a 29-year-old man from London, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply. They remain in police custody.
An investigation is now underway and a full post mortem examination will be carried out.
