Motorcyclist left with serious injuries after Aveley collision

1750 hrs

ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road collision in Aveley today (Monday, September 11). It happened in Sandy Lane shortly before 1.30pm and involved a blue and white Scania tipper lorry and a red Kawasaki motorbike.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 40s and from Grays, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

Officers are investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision and would particularly like to speak to two vehicles that were thought to be driving behind the tipper lorry or any other witnesses who can assist.
